Siena Peterson
I am a plant-based recipe creator, self-taught cook and interdisciplinary artist living in Chicago. I am constantly experimenting and exploring with ingredients and flavors in the kitchen. I believe food is an essential part to our daily lives and values the direct connection between food and mental and physical health. My intuition and creativity is not only a part of my cooking but is what also drives my practice as an interdisciplinary artist. Beyond the kitchen and my art studio, you can find me out running, listening to music, reading, dancing, or enjoying a glass of wine.
Philosophy
The ritual of eating allows us to refuel, indulge, and connect with our bodies. As a vegetarian; grains, leafy greens, root vegetables, dried and fresh fruits, nuts, seeds, and spices are the main source of my diet. I believe eating plant-based food has the ability to benefit not only our physical health but also our mental well-being. Eating intuitively, using ingredients that we connect with, and making meals that feel like home is so important. By allowing ourselves to indulge and eat what feels most comforting and nurturing can help us create a healthier relationship with food and our bodies.
